Turkish giants banned from competing in Europe

Turkish sides Fernebache and Besiktas have been banned from competing in Europe by UEFA for match fixing charges.

Fernebache have been given a two year ban and will miss this years Champions League. Besiktas however, only get a years ban which means someone has to replace them in the Europa League.

In July 2012, 93 people- including club officials, coaches and players - were charged in a civil trial which centred around Fernebache's league-winning run of 2011.
