Garcia named Brighton coach

     Brighton & Hove Albion have announced that former-Maccabi Tel Aviv manager Oscar Garcia is their new head coach.

     The 40 year-old who left Tel Aviv last month, will take up the role on Thursday.

     Former Brighton boss Gus Poyet was sacked on Sunday, but the Uruguayan is set to appeal against the decision.

     Garcia has played at Barcelona, Valencia and Espanyol throughout his playing career.
