The German international has been a long term target for Chelsea and now they have completed the deal, the 22 year-old signing a five year contract with the club.
He made many solid appearances (scoring in 11 occasions) for Leverkusen, helping them grab 3rd place and, more importantly, a Champions League qualifying spot. The former- Mainz player has racked up 24 caps for his country, and 7 goals.
