Diakite, 26, has been brought in from Italian club Lazio. Maritimo's 26 year-old defender Valentin Roberge and Basel's 24 year-old playmaker Cabral have also been signed by Paulo Di Canio. Napoli and Liverpool were also interested in Diakite.
Di Canio has also brought in David Moberg Karlsson from IFK Gothenburg.
