After 33 seconds, striker Emmanuel Adebayor turned in a Jan Vertonghen cross to put Spurs in the driving seat. Climbing above Vertoghen, Phil Jagielka headed in the equalizer and a superb solo goal by Belgian playmaker Kevin Mirallas gave Everton the lead.
A climatic finish saw Sigurdsson slot home the rebound after Adebayor hit the woodwork.
