United's Nani banned for a match after red card vs Madrid

Manchester United winger Nani has been suspended by UEFA for one match after a red card in the last-16 meeting against Real Madrid.

The Portuguese international was controversially sent off for a high challenge on Real right back, Alvaro Arbeloa. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been fined £8,500 for not speaking to the press after the match.

After the dismissal, two second-half goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric dumped the Red Devils out of the Champions League.
